Job Description:

A vacancy for an Fan Specialist - Environmental Control Systems domain (d/m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Hamburg.

The mission of the Aircraft Environmental Control Systems domain is to design and to ensure the continued airworthiness of the air supply, air conditioning, ventilation, pressure control, supplemental cooling and integrated fuel cell systems.

Your main focus is in the system area of the Avionics Ventilation , Ventilation Controls & Equipment Management and especially dedicated to the electrical fans .

What will you do in first 100 days?

  • You will be introduced into the Controls & Equipment Ventilation Team which has 17 team members. A team with a positive team spirit and a open and honest attitude

  • You will be introduced in the different Ventilation System areas as we are responsible for all Airbus Programs A320 Family, A330, A350 XWB, A380, Beluga XL and as well for new developments / R&T projects

  • You will be supported by engineering trainings, on-the-job trainings and general newcomers help

What will you manage?

  • You will be our fan specialist or you will become our fan specialist

  • You will consolidate and lead our fan product strategy in cooperation with experts, architects, strategic procurement and engineering management

  • You will be responsible for the evaluation and analysis of fan technology trends

  • You will lead the fan development

  • You will create the definition of technical specifications for fans

  • You will support the system engineers for trade studies , the definition of system architectures and concepts as well as cooperate in the selection of aircraft equipments manufacturers

  • You will support the system engineers to monitor the timely implementation/fulfillment of the system requirements at the equipment/system supplier by performing both reviews and audits

  • You are supporting the continuous development of risk analysis and minimization

  • You will evaluate the fan behavior in service, analysis of occurring malfunction and creation of suggestions for the modification of the system to improve operational reliability (in service support).

  • You are supporting and monitoring the subcontractors

  • You will be Equipment responsible (Level 1) and therefore you are in contact with Production, Customer Service, Procurement, Suppliers, Customer, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Configuration Management

  • You will support our Customer (Airlines) with in-service issues

  • You will work together with our international Suppliers

What do we expect?

  • You have several years experience or you are starting your career: both are possible

  • You have skills on aerodynamics , heat transfer & thermodynamics

  • You have skills on electrical motors and on power electronics

  • You have studies, knowledge in System Engineering in direction of Controls and fluid dynamics

  • You have the ownership and the skills to lead and guide topics until the end (Project Management)

  • You are focused on the customer to delivering in time, on cost and quality

  • You are able to handle complex topics with quick response time

  • You are an open minded person – not afraid to speak up and state clearly your point of view.

  • You have sense for a team, you can contribute to a positive team and community spirit and you feel comfortable with challenging & supporting your colleagues

What could be useful?

  • You have the experiences in engineering department / working with engineers

  • You have professional network within the fan domain of expertise or you can quickly build it

  • Your English is fluent and it would be a benefit if you can speak German or French

  • You have Project Management experience

  • You have knowledge in fluid simulation

  • You have experience in equipment development

  • You bring your experience of working in an international context
